Goal 
Contribute to national development by generating, verifying and applying appropriate technologies for prevention, treatment and control of animal diseases thus increasing livestock production and productivity, and safeguarding public health.

Strategies 
This centre envisions eight disciplinary sections and one unit in various specialised veterinary fields. Its programs mainly focus on research on diseases of the livestock and poultry species prioritized by the Agricultural Perspective Plan of the country. The strategic research areas are primarily oriented around resolving field-based problems encountered with specific commodity species. Infrastructure and facilities (farm area, soil type, representative blocks, irrigation facilities, map of the farm, list of laboratory facilities etc. are detailed in the Annexes. The current thrust areas for research being conducted by the centre are (i) control strategy for parasitic and non-infectious diseases in farm animals; (ii) control strategies for infectious diseases of farm animals; (iii) control strategy for zoonotic and climate-sensitive diseases and (iv) control strategy for management of intensive production diseases developed. To focus on these thrust areas, the centre has been divided into sections and units as listed below.
